Eminem has revealed he's back in the studio again and working on his
first album in almost three years.
He announced the news during a prank call to his own radio station.
He said: "Everything is good. I'm just in the studio right now working
on songs and stuff like that."
He had prank-called LL Cool J, a live guest on DJ Tony Touch's show on Shade 45.
There is no release date for the album.
Fake name
On Tuesday Eminem pretended to be a budding rapper called Jason from
Miami and challenged LL to a game of Name that Tune.
He recited back LL's lyrics to him, urging him to correctly guess the
name of his own songs.
He was so good that LL got them all right and praised him, saying:
"You sound hot saying the joints."
It was only after he asked to rap one of his own lyrics - Lose
Yourself- did the penny drop that Marshall Mathers was actually live
on the line.
Good mates
He told LL he was a big fan of his work and asked: "When are we going
to hang out? I've got cable in my house."
The two then continued to praise each other's work and agreed to get
together at some point.
Last month, 50 Cent confirmed he had heard some of the songs his
mentor had been working on.
He told Blender magazine: "You know, Michael Jordan was supposed to
play basketball. Floyd Mayweather was meant to box. And Eminem was
meant to rap."
Eminem's last studio album was Encore in 2004
